Nuno Alexandre (born 23-10-72) bought is first upright bass at the age of 18 after playing electric bass for 2 years.
Completely into roots music of the 30's 40's and 50's Nuno start learning the upright bass by himself ,listening and watching as many bass players as he could and trying to develop what later would be his trademark-the slap style that was so common in the
New Orleans bass players. At the age of 21 he went to the USA where he got the chance to play nationwide and make himself well-known due to his slap style technique. After he returned to Europe where he extensively toured with several bands, both european and american. (Tennessee Boys, Racketeers, Alley Kings, Simon & Starchiefs, Ruby Ann & Boppin Boozers,  english blues and rock'n' roll legend Jim Carlisle among others.) In 1999 he played 250 shows in almost all Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, England, Sweden, Norway, Finland....) Including big roots music festivals such as Hemsby rock'n' roll weekender (UK) ,D-day (Netherlands) Blues to Bop (Switzerland), Rockabilly Rave (UK), Calella Weekender (Spain), 1st Oslo R'n'R Meeting (Norway) , R'n'R jamboree (Finland), Piazza Blues (CH) among many others. From blues to rock'n'roll, western-swing, rockabilly ,jump & jive, traditional jazz, swing, boogie woogie, hillbilly, country, he has played almost all forms of traditional music from the 30's - 50'sera.   He also backed up original 50's american artists like Joe Clay, Marvin Rainwater just to name a few....Currently is living in Switzerland where he plays shows with boogie woogie piano player Silvan Zingg and drummer pal Valerio Felice. He has backed up all the piano stars at the Boogie Woogie Festival in Lugano Switzerland and performed at many others international boogie woogie, blues and jazz events.
